By Victoria Cuba A Hawaii man celebrated a major milestone in his life while remaining healthy and active. Ralph Inouye turned 100 years old on Monday, and to celebrate he hit the gym.
Hawaii Academy, a school that teaches fitness and gymnastics for all ages, threw a surprise birthday party for him to celebrate his centennial birthday. Inouye participated in many of the activities, which even included a race. “This isn’t a hundred yard sprint,” cheered Max Vercruyssen, President of Hawaii Academy. “It’s a hundred-year sprint!” Inouye says in addition to remaining active, he also keeps busy with the construction company named after him. He is the oldest member in his gymnastics class, but remains active to show that age can never slow you down.
