A large brush fire that burned hundreds of acres in Kunia has been contained, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.
Despite a flare-up on Sunday, firefighters managed to contain the fire – that broke out Saturday near the Royal Kunia Country Club – just before 5 p.m.
More than 25 Honolulu and federal firefighters responded to the fire at around noon on Saturday. Although no structure damages or injuries were reported, the fire burned nearly 300 acres of brush. Plumes could also be seen from miles away.
