HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Mayor Kirk Caldwell announced Tuesday that the outside of Honolulu Hale will be illuminated with rainbow colored lighting in celebration of the Supreme Court's historic decision recognizing same-sex marriage beginning Tuesday, June 30, 2015 and running through the night of Thursday, July 2, 2015.
"This has been a truly historic week for our nation," said Mayor Caldwell. "The Supreme Court's decisions on Obamacare and marriage equality make this upcoming Independence Day a special celebration. We're lighting up Honolulu Hale in support of our great nation, which got even better with these landmark decisions."
From the night of Friday, July 3, through the night of Sunday, July 5, the exterior of Honolulu Hale will be adorned with red, white, and blue lighting in celebration of America's birth.
