Oahu residents will start to see a slight increase in their sewer bill starting this week.
Beginning on Wednesday, July 1, sewage rates will increase by five percent for residents.
Base charges will go up to $71.81 (a $3.42 increase) and water volume charges increase to $4.29 (a $0.21 increase) per 1,000 gallons for single family dwellings.
The increased fees will help pay for maintenance and improvements mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
