L&L to sell 76-cent plate lunches at annual event

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - L&L Hawaiian Barbecue will be giving one lucky customer a year supply of plate lunches at this year's annual 76¢ plate lunch 10-year anniversary celebration.

The event will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Keeaumoku Street (in Walmart), Honolulu location only.

All customers who are in line before 9 a.m. will be eligible to win the year supply of plate lunches. The winner will be chosen at random and will be announced at the event.

Everyone else in line will have the option of purchasing one of three plate lunches for the special 76¢ price: Kalua Pork with Cabbage, Chicken Katsu, and Hamburger Steak. Pepsi fountain drinks will also be offered at 10¢ each. King's Hawaiian four pack rolls will be available for 25¢.

Last year's celebration included more than 1,500 participants. People started lining up as early as 11 p.m. the previous night for the low-priced plate lunch deal. This is an annual event to commemorate the opening of the first L&L Drive-Inn in 1976.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to Goodwill Hawaii, supporting their mission - to help people with employment barriers to reach their full potential and become self-sufficient.
