Business Report 6/23/15: Kahuku wind farm, travel, Nordstrom Rack

California-based Champlin has a public meeting today on its proposed wind farm above Kahuku - 24 megawatts, near the 30-megawatt Sun Edison turbines. The meeting will be at the Kahuku Village Association Community Center. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. If you don't want to speak you can get a form for submitting written comments. The deadline for comments is August 11.

Hawaiian Airlines made $18 million on baggage in the first quarter. The airline reported that to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The USDA Hawaii Field Office reports drought coverage is at 67 percent this week, with north Kauai drier than usual. Oahu's Waimanalo reservoir fell below 60 feet and the Molokai reservoir also fell.

Real Property Management Alliance, a national property management enterprise, opens an office in Honolulu. Kawika Burgess is local head of the operation, in the Varsity Building in Moiliili.

Nordstrom Rack has decided to open a store in Waikiki. The plan is a 34,000-square-foot store in two levels in the Waikiki Trade Center. The store will open in March of next year.
