HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A motorcycle accident on the H-2 freeway left a Mililani man in critical condition early Saturday morning.
Honolulu police say it happened at around 1:40 a.m. on the H-2 freeway near the Mililani Mauka off-ramp.
The 53-year-old man was traveling northbound when for unknown reasons he lost control of his motorcycle. He was ejected from the motorcycle and impacted onto the roadway.
According to HPD, the motorcyclist sustained injuries to his head and body and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Police say the ground was wet at the time of the collision, and it appears the rider was not wearing a helmet. Police believe speed was a contributing factor. It is unknown at this time if alcohol was also a factor in this incident.
