HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man has been found guilty on all counts in the 2013 murder of a Molokai woman.
The defendant, Marlin Lavoie, was found guilty as charged on Wednesday for second-degree murder and three firearms offenses.
On March 20, 2013, Lavoie shot and killed his on-again, off-again girlfriend, 24-year-old Malia Kahalewai, in front of multiple witnesses, including their children.
Court documents revealed the couple had separated just four days earlier.
Police say Lavoie tracked down Kahalewai to a friend's house in Kawela, where he shot her in the chest with a rifle.
Lavoie will be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. on August 13.
