Starstruck man refuses to accept money from 'The Rock' for hitting his truck

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson recently got into a car accident, but everyone involved is smiling about the ordeal.

Johnson says the crash happened while on his way to a movie set in Wakefield, Mass.

"I'm driving to set in my pick up truck - music blasting - I'm singing away like I'm having a one man party in my truck - then I hear a loud BANG," said the actor in a post on Instagram.

Johnson says he sideswiped another pickup truck that was parked in the street, destroying the driver-side mirror. The truck owner saw the whole thing, but when Johnson apologized and offered to pay for the damage, he was too starstruck to accept.

"He started laughing and before you know it we're both standing in the middle of the street pointing to his mirror and laughing like two ol' crazy buddies," wrote Johnson on Instagram.

Johnson says he checked back in with the truck owner, Wakefield resident Audie Bridges, a few days later, but he again refused to accept any money.

The story of The Rock's run-in has since gone viral, with nearly 500,000 likes on the original Instagram post.
