Hawaiian Airlines is opening an office in Washington D.C. And it's hired a new Managing Director of Federal Government Relations to work there. She's Margaret Cummisky, local born-and-raised, a former senior Inouye aide who more recently has been a Commerce Department liaison with Congress.

Pacific Basin Communications hires a new editor for Hawaii Magazine, paid circulation 68,000. Christine Hitt had been editor of Mana magazine and earlier was digital media manager.

The Howard Hughes Corporation has decided a modern village needs a wireless network, even if the village is Ward Village. It now has free WiFi for all 60 acres of the former Victoria Ward property.

Pacific Business News reports the Five-O Bar & Lounge at Royal Hawaiian Center is closing after four years. Duane Shimogawa reports the place was supposed to be a club but complaints from other tenants kept that from ever happening.
