HILO, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police have released the identity of the man whose body was discovered under a bridge on the Big Island last week.
An autopsy determined that the decedent was 54-year-old Patrick Dacayanan of Hilo. Authorities say he died from injuries consistent with a fall from height. Detectives have ruled out foul play.
Dacayanan, whose body was found under the Nanue Bridge in Umauma on Friday (June 5), was the second person discovered dead in the Umauma stream last week.
Bobbie Jackie Carnathan, 62, of Kailua-Kona was found in the stream on Monday (June 1). Her death was also determined to be from traumatic injuries consistent with a fall from a height. Police do not suspect foul play.
