HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are searching for two men accused of a shooting inside what police sources say may have been an illegal game room.
Officers fled to the intersection of Keeaumoku Street and Kinau Street just before 12:30 a.m. Monday. They say a 31-year-old man and a 37-year-old man had been shot.
The two men who were shot were rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police taped off a driveway closer to the Ewa side of the intersection. During the day, you can see the area leads to a side door, with a door bell, monitored by surveillance cameras. On the other side of the building there are no signs, no address on the door, black-out tinted windows and the doors are locked.
Hawaii News Now sources say there is a game room on the other side of the door.
Business owners in the area didn't want to talk on camera, but one man tells us our sources are correct.
Sources say two men were playing inside of the game room when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the doorman.
The other one grabbed a bag full with cash from the cashier and they both took off in a get-away vehicle.
Police say they are still on the run.
One man is described as 6'2", 250 pounds, in his 30s with long bushy hair.
The other man is also said to be in his 30s.
One of them had a tattoo of a tear drop next to his eye.
No word on if the room is still operating.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 911.
