Chance Carpenter, who father and uncle founded Big Island Jewelers more than 30 years ago, is joining the family business as a goldsmith apprentice. Hawaii Biotech is looking for new office and wet lab space, after Diagnostic Laboratory Services bought the space it has been leasing in Aiea. Lorin Gill reports in Pacific Business News the company has been looking for space at the UH Cancer Center, but it's not clear to me that the university is moving fast enough to make something happen.
