Ewa Beach woman dies after vehicle overturns in Nanakuli

NANAKULI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

An Ewa Beach woman is dead after her vehicle overturned along Farrington Hwy. in Nanakuli early Sunday morning.

The Medical Examiner's Office said 41-year-old Larissa Tuifao died of blunt force trauma to the head. 

Police say the accident happened near Aliinui Drive at approximately 12:38 a.m.

Tuifao and her passenger, a 7-year-old girl, were traveling eastbound on Farrington Hwy. when, for an unknown reason, her vehicle lost control and struck the concrete median causing the vehicle to overturn.

Tuifao was pronounced dead at the scene. The 7-year-old girl was taken to an area hospital in good condition

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors, according to HPD. 

This is the 25th traffic fatality this year, compared to 27 at the same time in 2014.
