Police seek man wanted for questioning in Ala Wai robbery

Honolulu police are asking the public for help in locating a man wanted for questioning in a robbery on Ala Wai Boulevard.

The incident happened on May 12 at approximately 3:15 a.m. near Namahana Street. Police said the victim, who was walking along Ala Wai Boulevard, was knocked unconscious by an unknown man. The man continued to assault the victim and took his property. He then fled with four other teenage males on bicycles.

The victim suffered multiple injuries to the head and face.

Police released a description of the man they're seeking as Polynesian and in his late teens to early 20s. He is approximately 6'0” and weighs about 150 pounds. He is bald and was wearing a dark tank top and orange and gray checkerboard-patterned surf shorts.

A witness said one of the bikes was a red lowrider with white colors.

CrimeStoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call (808) 955-8300.
