Police arrest 1 Laumaka work furlough inmate, second inmate still missing

Honolulu police have arrested one of the inmates, Michael Salas. He was arrested for Robbery 1 and Escape 2 in Nanakuli on Tuesday evening. George Goings is still missing.

Authorities are searching for Laumaka Work Furlough Center inmates George Goings and Michael Salas after they were reported missing from a headcount on Sunday morning. 

Honolulu police and sheriff officials were immediately notified after the two inmates were not at the 1:45 a.m. headcount. 

Goings was serving time for various drug charges and ownership/possession of a prohibited firearm. His next parole consideration hearing is scheduled for September of this year. Salas was serving time for second-degree robbery. His parole consideration hearing is also scheduled for September.

43-year-old Goings is described as 5'9", weighs 207 lbs., and has brown hair and brown eyes. 

26-year-old Salas is described as 5'9", weighs 135 lbs., and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Goings and Salas were both community custody inmates in the work furlough program with pass privileges. Community custody is the lowest classification status.
