Punahou alum Harrison named Pac-12 freshman of the year

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - KJ Harrison's college career is off to a very promising start.


The Punahou grad and current Oregon State first baseman was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Wednesday, highlighting a stellar season for the former Hawaii all-state standout.

Harrison leads the Pac-12 with 58 runs batted in and is hitting .314 with 12 doubles and three triples. His 10 home runs also ranks third in the conference.

His Beavers are back on the field Friday when it opens NCAA tournament play against Texas.
