HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The moment Eran Ganot took over as UH men's basketball coach the immediate challenge facing him was recruiting externally and internally.

His administration saw its first departure Tuesday as Negus Webster-Chan is leaving Manoa.

Sources confirmed the development with Hawaii News Now that the swingman is leaving two years of college eligibility on the table and turning professional.

It's not clear why he has opted to leave, but we're told that he wants to join an NBA team as a free agent and has also not ruled out playing overseas.

He first came to Hawaii as a transfer from Missouri before the start of the 2013 season, but sat out because of NCAA rules.

However, in his one year of playing with the 'Bows, he led the team in 3-point percentage.
