Female MCCC pre-trial detainee in Maui Police custody

Maui Police have confirmed that they arrested Tasha Gonsalves at about 2 p.m.

Maui Community Correctional Center (MCCC) pre-trial detainee Tasha Gonsalves was reported missing from the 5:30 a.m. headcount. How she escaped is under investigation.

She was awaiting trial for theft, forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card. Her bail was set at $15,000.

Gonsalves is a community custody detainee housed in a minimum security dorm on the perimeter of the facility.

Maui police are searching for a Maui Community Correctional Center pre-trial detainee who was reported missing on Tuesday.

MCCC officials learned Tasha Gonsalves, 29, was missing during the 5:30 a.m. headcount.

Gonsalves – who has brown hair and brown eyes -- is about 5'1” and approximately 125 pounds.

She is a community custody detainee housed in a minimum security dorm of the perimeter of MCCC. She was awaiting trial for theft, forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card. Her bail was set at $15,000.
