BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii Island fire officials are investigating a brush fire that scorched about a quarter of an acre along Kaiminani Drive in Kona early Saturday morning.
Firefighters responded to the brush fire shortly before 3 a.m. on the north side of Kaiminani Drive, approximately one-fourth of a mile above Highway 19. Police closed a portion of the road while crews battled the blaze.
The fire was under control at 3:11 a.m., and extinguished about 30 minutes later.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
