Honolulu police investigating possible stabbing in Kalihi

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have arrested 36-year-old Mavourneen Rombawa for the alleged attempted murder of a 57-year-old woman at a Kalihi apartment Wednesday night.

The incident occurred at the three-story walk-up apartment building located at Pio Place and Kamehameha IV Road around 9:35 p.m. The victim was taken in serious condition to the Queen's Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services.

Police say Rombawa stabbed the victim following an argument between the two acquaintances. Rombawa is accused of also setting a fire inside the apartment as well as threatening an adult witness at the scene with the same dangerous instrument she used to stab the victim, police said.

She was additionally booked for first-degree terroristic threatening and arson.

Rombawa was booked with no local address. The investigation is ongoing.
