KALIHI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Fire crews put out a rubbish fire early Wednesday morning that damaged some Kalihi businesses.

The fire happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. at the Car Audio and Security Specialists near the intersection of Nimitz Highway and Mokauea Street.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but they had to enter the building to make sure it had not spread through the structure.

There was visible damage to the storefronts of both the car audio shop and a cabinet and granite store.

No injuries have been reported.

The Honolulu Fire Department is investigating the cause as well as damage estimates.
