More than 6,000 gallons of waste water dumped into Nuuanu Stream

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Hawaii Department of Health's Clean Water Branch is advising the public to stay out of Nuuanu Stream after waste water was reportedly dumped into the stream on Monday. 

The Clean Water Branch was notified of a 6,100 gallon waste water discharge, but the cause is unknown at this time. City crews were on site Monday afternoon and will put up warning signs at first light on Tuesday.

The public is being advised to stay out of Nuuanu Stream from Foster Botanical Garden to Honolulu Harbor.
