Hawaii for Hawaii benefit concert for IHS

WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Hundreds flocked to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort for the "Hawaii for Hawaii" benefit concert for the Institute for Human Services.

Funds from the concert are put towards efforts to help end and prevent homelessness in Hawaii.

One of the biggest draws at the event was the Oahu debut performance of Henry Kapono, John Cruz and Brother Noland as the "Rough Riders."

The Rough Riders stopped by "Sunrise" on Monday to give a preview of their event performance.

IHS hopes to raise at least $1 million; event organizes hope the goal will be met through individual ticket sales, tables sales, sponsorships and an online auction.

The online auction will close on May 10 at 6 p.m. Prizes include all inclusive vacations, tailored experiences, and donated collectibles.
