HONOLULU (AP) - When federal agents with a warrant arrived at a luxury Honolulu apartment in 2012, agents watching from the ground saw men throwing crystal meth over the 15th-floor balcony.

Court documents reveal details about the dramatic arrest that ended with about 3 pounds of meth blanketing the sidewalk. A pound of the drug sells for about $20,000 in Honolulu - double what it goes for on the mainland.

The three men in the apartment were charged with being part of a drug trafficking ring and later accepted plea deals.

Claude Sorrells was the last to be sentenced, getting a 15-year prison term Thursday. Last year, Linton Nicholson received a sentence of more than nine years, and Thomas Jackson got five years.

Court documents say the meth was smuggled from California.
