HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

In October, she announced her battle against the deadly disease to the world.

Thursday night, in one of her first television appearances since January Shelley Smith will return to ESPN to cover Marcus Mariota and the NFL draft, right here in Hawaii.

Smith will appear on television bald; without a wig, or a hat, or a bandanna. After losing her hair during chemotherapy, Smith says it is important to her to show other women also battling cancer to be confident.

After all that Smith has fought through she remains optimistic, saying "I lucky I have a fight, I have friends who would've loved this fight."
