A new scholarship fund has been established by Marcus Mariota, a 2011 alumnus of Saint Louis School and 2014 Heisman trophy winner, announced Saint Louis Head of School Walter Kirimitsu. The Marcus Mariota Scholarship Fund will be awarded annually to a new or returning student athlete entering the 9th grade and applied to the student's tuition for four years.

“Saint Louis School and my family made me who I am today, “said Mariota. “I want future generations of student athletes in financial need to know they can become the best they can be in a strong, supportive environment.”

“We are extremely grateful to Marcus for his support of Saint Louis,” said Kirimitsu. “So much has happened in his life since he walked our halls and played on our field, yet he continues to exemplify what it means to be a Saint Louis man. He is generous, humble, faithful and is making a difference in the world.”

Mariota was a standout quarterback for the Crusaders and set a fine example in the classroom as he was an exceptional student and mentor. The Marcus Mariota Scholarship Fund will encourage student athletes to strive for excellence. The fund will be awarded to a student in financial need and with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.75 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the subsequent years. The student must also be involved in one or more of Saint Louis athletic programs and be of strong character and good behavior.

The Fund is effective for the 2015 – 2016 school year. To apply for the scholarship, parents should email
