OCCC work furlough inmate fails to return to facility after work

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Authorities are searching for Oahu Community Correctional Center work furlough inmate Michael Draper after he failed to return to the facility on Sunday. 

Officials say the 47-year-old left the facility on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. from Module 20 to go to work. He was supposed to return from work Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. 

Sheriffs and Honolulu Police were notified.


Draper is described as 5'7", weighs 153 lbs. and has brown hair and green eyes.

He is serving time for theft. His next parole hearing is scheduled for May of this year. He now faces an additional escape charge when found. Draper is a community custody inmate in the work furlough program with pass privileges. Community custody is the lowest classification status.
