Lanai (Hawaii News Now) -

The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued one man and is still searching for another who was on board the same fishing boat that ran aground on rocks about 1.5 miles west of Lanai.

Coast Guard officials said they received a mayday call at around 12:10 a.m. Friday, which came from a boat called "Munchkin," based out of Kaunakakai on Molokai. A Coast Guard helicopter located and recovered one of the men in the water at about 3:20 a.m. He was taken to the Maui Memorial Medical Center, officials said.

Another search boat from Maui is continuing to scan the waters for the second man who is still missing.

Crews are also still searching for a fisherman off Oahu who sent a mayday call out on Thursday.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
