From Pop Star to President

Glenn Medeiros Glenn Medeiros
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Lihue native Glenn Medeiros shot to fame in the late 1980's with the love ballad “Nothing's Going to Change My Love for You."

He reached number-one status three years later with the Bobby Brown collaboration “She Ain't Worth It."

Now, he's singing a new tune, as President of St Louis School.
He doesn't shy away from his past, after all, as he says with a chuckle "It's something that I've been dealing with for a very long time."
Despite the fame and riches, he always considered himself an educator.  Like any good one, he's using his own life experiences as an example for others.
"One of the great things we do is we find talents in individuals and we allow them to make the most of them and provide students the opportunity to be in an environment to strengthen those talents," Medeiros said.
Besides those pipes, another of Glenn's talents is in academia.
"You look at his credentials, you look at his background, his doctoral thesis, it's all about academics," said Mike Hogan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at St Louis.
Medeiros has a doctorate in education from Southern Cal.  He has a Master's Degree in education as well, and was Vice Principal at Maryknoll prior to his appointment at St Louis.

Administrators will be counting on those talents to lead the school through a critical time of lower enrollment and reported financial troubles.
"I come in as someone from the outside.  At the same time I see that in a positive way, I bring in new ideas," he said.
