WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Heisman trophy winner Marcus Mariota is back in his home state of Hawaii this week and will make a public appearance on Oahu.

The St. Louis High School and University of Oregon graduate will use his famous throwing arm to make sandwiches at the Subway in Waikiki.

The top NFL draft prospect is being introduced as one of the national food chain's new 'famous fans' -- an elite group that includes athletes such as Clayton Kershaw, Mike Trout, Russell Westbrook, Robert Griffin III, Justin Tuck, Nastia Liukin and Pele.

A life-size bust of Mariota will also be unveiled, but this is no ordinary statue. It was created by James Victor, a Pennsylvania food artist, and consists of only ingredients found in Subway restaurants.

Mariota is expected to make sandwiches for some of the guests.

When: Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:15 a.m.

Where: SUBWAY Restaurant | 226 Lewers Street, Unit 130
