MANOA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu firefighters and UH Manoa campus facilities personnel are working to clean up a watery mess in the art building on campus.

A broken valve on a hot water line on the third floor spilled about a half an inch of water into about six classrooms and several hallways, causing some damage to materials sitting on the floor.

It was detected around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, and HFD was notified.

Fire officials say the water is suspected to have been flowing for several hours and seeped down into a second-floor room and into the first-floor auditorium, which may remain closed for further cleanup. All other classroom are expected to be open.
