A Kaneohe woman with Calciphylaxis, a rare illness, is asking for the public's help after she said she was robbed on Friday.

Janell Araki discovered her car had been broken into after her treatment and said about $1,000 worth of personal items – including her purse and iPad – were stolen. Her stuffed animals that she uses for comfort during her treatment were also stolen.

“I just want my babies back, you know, without them I can't sleep,” she said. “Just return them, no questions asked. If they want a reward, we can give them something, but yeah, please return it.”

Calciphylaxis is a disease that mainly affects dialysis patients, attacking their red blood cells and eventually leading to amputations. Serious infections can also lead to death.
