JustServe Helping Hands seeks volunteers for WCCC Cleanup and Visit Lanai Construction Project
KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
This Saturday, April 18, JustServe Helping Hands will be prepping for construction of a new visit lanai at the Women's Community Correctional Center for families to sit under while they wait for their weekend visits with their incarcerated loved ones. That big lanai construction project will be on the following Saturday, April 25th.
Like any other undertaking, there are costs for supplies. They are reaching out to the community to join them in the project by lending a hand with the work and/or donating some needed equipment and building supplies.
The JustServe.org is a program Sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) dedicated to linking up Volunteers with various community service opportunities. Each year the Church encourages its Members to do a “day of Service” throughout the World!
This year the Kailua/Keolu Chapels have selected WCCC as the recipient. They will be working hand in hand with other Churches/ Volunteers in an interfaith collaborative effort to build a Visitor Lanai Waiting area next to the old arbor at the Women's Community Correctional Center (WCCC).
