The 2015 LOTTE Championship Presented by Hershey swings into West Oahu April 12-18 for its fourth annual event featuring a star-studded field of marquee pros who grace the world stage of ladies' professional golf. The LPGA recently announced that Hershey, the largest chocolate manufacturer in North America, has sweetened its involvement in the tournament as the new presenting sponsor, replacing J Golf.
Top-ranked golf stars -- Lydia Ko, Inbee Park, Shanshan Feng, So Yeon Ryu, Paula Creamer, defending champion Michelle Wie and more -- will return to tee off at Ko Olina Golf Club, competing for a share of the $1.8 million purse with the champion taking home $270,000.
The 2014 LOTTE Championship delivered a fairy tale finish for Michelle Wie. After nearly a four-year winless streak, she clinched her first LPGA Tour win on American soil, finishing with a score of 14-under 274 and dancing the champion's celebratory hula in front of thousands of adoring “hometown” fans. The Honolulu native said she could not have dreamed up a better ending to the tournament she calls her hometown event. Wie shot a 5-under 67 in Saturday's final round to secure her third career victory, the first since the 2010 CN Canadian Women's Open. The 24-year-old started the day four shots behind third-round leader Angela Stanford, and used six birdies and a bogey on the par-4 18th hole to snap a 79-event winless drought. Two months later, Wie went on to win her first major championship at the 2014 U.S. Women's Open.
