Honolulu Community College’s Fashion Show Juxtapose
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
JUXTAPOSE represents exactly what the 10 graduating seniors want to say. They are very different in their design concepts, but they have come together "side by side" to show the world who they are.
A Central Park After Dark theme inspired the set design complete with a cityscape, bridge on the runway, park benches, park trees and lots of lights. The designers have promised to bring the vibrant NYC nightlife right to the Honolulu CC campus.
The event will also include a photo booth and entertainment by Blank Canvas Dancers.
The Fashion Technology program at Honolulu CC offers an Associate degree, and certificates of Achievement, Completion and Competence. The curriculum is designed to provide competency for a wide range of occupations in the fashion industry: designer, patternmaker, cutter, or custom dressmaker to name a few.
The FT program has had three alum compete on Lifetime's Project Runway: Jay Sario, Ari South and Kini Zamora. Fashion alumni have found jobs locally and abroad in the fashion industry.
