Free screenings of 'The Hunting Ground' offered during Sexual Assault Awareness Month

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April, there will be two free screenings of the documentary, “The Hunting Ground,” on Oahu.

The film takes a look at sexual assault on college campuses, blending raw footage with first-person testimonies. It follows survivors and their families as they cope with retaliation, harassment, pushback and university efforts to downplay and deny assaults.

The two free screenings will take place the following dates and times:

April 16, 2015
Time: 7 p.m. (door open at 6:30 p.m.)
Location: Doris Duke Theatre (900 S. Beretania St.)

Time: 6 p.m. (5:30 p.m. Pau Hana)
Location: The ARTS at Marks Garage (1159 Nuuanu Ave)
Limited seating, first-come, first-served.
