The Honolulu Police Department wants to hear from you about their policies, procedures, administration, operations or services.
An international accreditation team will be taking those compliments or complaints.
The department sent out a press release today which details how the public can make their opinions known.
A public comment session is being held by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). That is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, from 5 p.m. at HPD's Community Affairs Division Conference Room, at HPD Headquarters located at 801 S. Beretania Street.
If you can't make that, you can also call in your comments on the same day, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The phone number is 723-3800.
You can also submit written comments:
Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA)
13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320
Gainesville, Virginia, 20155
Or you visit the agency's website: www.calea.org.
Phone calls, appearances, and letters should address the HPD's ability to comply with the accreditation standards. A copy of those standards is available at HPD's Professional Standards Office at 801 South Beretania Street, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
