HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police have reopened all lanes of the H-1 freeway in the eastbound direction after a critical accident occurred on Thursday afternoon.

Police say a truck allegedly blew a tire and rolled over on the freeway just past the Pearl City on-ramp around 2:45 p.m.

A 40-year-old male was ejected out of the truck when it crashed and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The other passenger, a 42-year-old female, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Neither of the passengers were wearing seat belts when the accident occurred.

Police closed the three left lanes of the H-1 freeway as they completed their investigation, which snarled Honolulu traffic.
