Top hoops recruit decommits from Hawaii

Austin Pope announced he's de-committing from UH Austin Pope announced he's de-committing from UH
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - With each passing day UH administration doesn't make a decision on a new men's basketball coach, recruits are staying away.

The 2015 recruiting class was dealt a big blow this morning as major target Austin Pope announced on Twitter that he is de-committing "due to circumstances beyond his control."

The 6-foot-6 point guard out of North Idaho College verbally committed to UH two weeks ago.

Pope is a former high school teammate of Aaron Valdes.

Interim coach Benjy Taylor can't comment because he's not allowed to talk about recruits.

An announcement on a new coach is expected within the next couple of weeks.
