HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Virgin America will begin daily non-stop service from San Francisco to Honolulu and Kahului later this year, the company announced on Tuesday.

“As one of the most popular leisure destinations among Bay Area travelers, we are pleased to announce our new nonstop service to Hawaii,” said Virgin America President and Chief Executive Officer, David Cush. "We look forward to bringing a new kind of flight service to the market and to building lasting community ties with the state of Hawaii.”

Starting in November, the airline will offer one daily round-trip flight from San Francisco to Honolulu International Airport. Flights from SFO to Kahului are scheduled to begin in December, and seats on both routes are already available for purchase from Virgin America's website.

The routes will fly using new Airbus A320 aircraft that Virgin plans to take delivery of later this year.

On Tuesday morning, prices for flights during the first two weeks of service to either destination were listed at $199 each way.
