'ALIOMANU, KAUAI (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - The body of a local male was recovered from Papa'a Bay Friday morning.
Police have identified him as Andrew Masunaga of Kapa'a.
The 64-year-old man had been fishing in the area late Thursday night and did not return home. A bystander located his body along the beach at around 8:45 a.m. Friday and notified police.
Police, firefighters and medics responded to the scene. Due to the steep terrain, Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 recovered the body from the area.
Foul play is not a suspected factor in the cause of Masunaga's death. An autopsy is scheduled for next week.
