High notes meet the high wire in Hawaii Symphony Orchestra's Cirque de la Symphonie

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Hawaii Symphony Orchestra (HSO) will present “Cirque de la Symphonie,” featuring eight mesmerizing aerialists, strongmen, jugglers and contortionists performing alongside the orchestra on Friday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall.

Guest conductor Stuart Chafetz will return to lead the HSO in the program of thrilling, high-energy classical music, including Dvorak's Carnival Overture, Les Toreadors Suite from Carmen, Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah and Sibelius's Finlandia. The diverse Cirque artists include a former Olympic Athlete of the Year, a Broadway performer and several Cirque du Soleil veterans; hailing from Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Canada and the United States.

The Cirque de la Symphonie guest artists are sponsored by Central Pacific Bank.

Tickets start at $27 and are available at the Hawaii Symphony website, through Ticketmaster or by calling 94-MUSIC(68742). In-person sales are available at the HSO Box Office at 3610 Waialae Ave. or at the Blaisdell Box Office at 777 Ward Ave.
