Chancellor meets with Regents to discuss Manoa AD post

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

University of Hawaii at Manoa Chancellor Robert Bley-Vroman met with the school's Board of Regents on Thursday to discuss finalists for the campus' athletic director post.

An announcement has not yet been made, and no details of the meeting were revealed.

Sources tell Hawaii News Now that just two candidates remain under consideration. A search advisory committee recommended Hawaii Bowl executive director David Matlin for the job, while Bley-Vroman is also reportedly considering former HHSAA executive director Keith Amemiya.

A replacement for current athletic director Ben Jay, who plans to leave the university by June 30, is expected to be named before the end of the month.
