HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Tantalus Lookout, with sweeping views of Manoa Valley and beyond, is a popular destination for both locals and visitors alike. After seeing a Hawaii News Now report of the trash not being cleaned up in the area, 808 Cleanups showed up the next day to begin the process of restoring this site.
Working with the Tantalus Community Association and Discover Hawaii Tours, they will be cleaning up the litter and putting a long term Adopt a Site program in place there. The lookout is a microcosm of the litter and dumping problems seen throughout Oahu.
The goal of 808 Cleanups is to empower communities to take positive action for restoration and preservation of sites island wide.
