HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - "Hawaii Stars" finalist and country artist Jay Tighe is returning to the islands from San Diego to promote his debut album, "Driven," which features 11 tracks written by Tighe himself.
The St. Louis, Miss. native says he was strongly influenced by artists like Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rodgers and George Michael.
Tighe enjoyed great success on "Hawaii Stars" where he earned 12 perfect scores, more than 100,000 phone votes and perfect 10 scores in the finals. He later returned for the final season of the show, sweeping the Viewer's Choice competition, undefeated. He went by his former stage name, Jimmy Tighe 2.
He performed one of his songs on Sunrise.
