UH Manoa bans smoking on campus

MANOA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Starting July 1, the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus will be smoke free, Chancellor Robert Bley-Vroman announced Monday.

The announcement letter said UH Manoa will join more than 1,000 colleges and universities in prohibiting smoking of any kind anywhere on campus. The goal is to promote a healthy and safe environment for students, employees and visitors, and to reduce administrative costs associated with smoking.

UH Manoa will offer nicotine replacement products and educational materials to help with the transition.
