KALIHI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Family members of the two men murdered over the weekend laid flowers and alcohol at the site on Auiki Street near Mokauea Street Monday, one day after the cousins were killed.
Culver Rosokow, 29, was shot twice in the head. Asano Samachi, 33, was hit in the chest.
Family members say they are originally from Chuuk in Micronesia, but moved to Hawaii several years ago.
Multiple witnesses tell Hawaii News Now they saw the black Hyundai and a white car chasing each other through the area. The drivers were speeding up and then slamming on their brakes. They were even yelling and throwing items at each other.
"Two cars came racing down this road," says George Woods, a homeless man, who lives in the area, "After that, all the police."
"I heard the first shot...then I heard...five shots...total of six," says another homeless witness who doesn't want his name used.
Rosokow was driving the Hyundai, he was pronounced dead at the scene, Samachi, the passenger, died at the hospital.
Police are still searching for the gunman. They did recover evidence from the car and are reviewing surveillance video from area businesses.
