HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - More delays are expected for drivers this weekend because of lane closures on the H-1 freeway and Likelike highway, the Department of Transportation says.
Starting Friday at 9 p.m. through 12:01 a.m. Monday, crews will close two right lanes of the H-1 freeway – in the westbound direction – between the Keehi interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam off-ramp. Construction crews will be working on concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs and pavement restriping.
Starting 8 p.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday, two to three lanes of the H-1 freeway – in the westbound direction – will be closed between the Pearl City/Waimalu off-ramp to the Waipahu off-ramp. Crews will work on deck widening and concrete pours.
The DOT will also close lanes for rail work, including both directions at the H-1/H-2 merge between the Waipahu Street overpass and the Waiawa Road overpass from Sunday through Friday, Feb. 27 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Also, the entire Waipahu off-ramp from the H-1 westbound will be closed on Sunday through Friday, Feb. 27 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
There will be full closures in the Kaneohe-bound direction on Likelike Highway from Valley View Drive to Wilson Tunnel from 7 p.m., Saturday to 7 a.m., Sunday.
