PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Up to three westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway at the H-1/H-2 merge near Leeward Community College will be closed for rail work, according to rail officials.
The weekly closures are scheduled for every Monday through Thursday night between the hours of 8 p.m. and 4 a.m.
The lane closures are related to construction of the rail guideway over the H-1 Freeway connecting Waipahu and Pearl City.
In addition, a 24/7 lane closure is in effect for a major thoroughfare through Pearl City. At the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and Acacia Road near Pearl Highlands Center, one westbound left-turn lane heading to Home Depot and the inside westbound lane of Kamehameha Highway near Acacia Road are closed. Crews have also blocked one eastbound left-turn lane from the highway onto Acacia Road.
